Many people believe that Lip Balms are only useful during the harsh Winter season. True, due to the dry weather. But doesn’t mean you don’t need these “cures” for Spring/Summer! It is Summer 24/7 here in cozy, little Malaysia; but I still get super dry lips!
For Spring/Summer, we LOVE bold, statement lip colours. But remember.. pretty lips start with a moisturised lip! Flaky lips are definitely not in this season!! (or any other, to be clear. haha)
OH BY THE WAY, Check out my “LIP BALM AS A WHAT?!” post.
I have a lot, and I repeat.. A LOT of lip balms. LOL. I keep a few on my desk, one on my bed, one in my makeup bag and one in my school bag. I am pretty much obsessed with lip balm. I’ve tried my fair share and thought I would just show you guys my favourite lip balms! So without further ado, let’s gooo! *ZOOM* (I don’t know why I was so tempted to write that LOL)
This is a pink tinted lip balm. It has the sheerest colour payoff- almost clear! Nonetheless, this is an amazing lip balm. It’s one of those “waxier” lip balms instead of the creamy ones. It’s very moisturising and doesn’t feel like there’s anything on your lips. This has a delicious peach scent!
RRP: US$2.97 (Walmart), RM9.90
This has been one of my favourites for more than a year now. It smells fruity and delicious. I’m almost all done with this tube but I have a backup! This is very affordable and moisturises the lips very well. I even used this during Winter season when I travelled to China last year and it kept my lips from drying out/flaking.
RRP: ~US$3.50, RM19.00
This lip balm smells so fruity! AHH! I think you guys have guessed by now that I am a total fruity-scent lover! This is not super moisturising, but it DOES moisturise.. just not as well as some other lip balms. I don’t use this much anymore, just because it’s a potted lip balm and I have to use my fingers.
When I first got this, I HATED it. I thought it sucked. I thought it dried more than moisturised and it was so waxy that it was so hard to apply. But I guess after using the top “waxy, dry” layer.. The lip balm felt creamy and easy to apply. It also moisturised really well! This does have a scent that I can’t describe though, and I don’t like that scent. But all-in-all, great lip balm to have in your stash!
RRP: US$2.99 (Walgreens), RM15.80
This is my most recent addition. I got it in the Great Guardian Makeover goodie bag 🙂 I put this on every night now. It’s super moisturising and gives a nice gloss. It smells super delicious! Smells exactly like the name- Peppermint + Chocolate! You would want to lick it all off (but don’t do that. Licking your lips too excessively will dry them out even more.)
So that concludes my favourite “CURES” for dry lips! What is your favourite lip balm as of now? Tell me in the comment section below! ♥
