Hey beauties! It’s that time of the month again (not that time..) for a Vanity Trove review! So last month, VanityTrove March ’13 didn’t really impress. What about this month?
As always, I will do a full-on review of everything in the box. The total value of my box will be at the end of the post.
If you guys didn’t know, VanityTrove is a monthly subscription service with a revised price of RM50/box. It is a pricier box, but the products inside always sum up to more than the box itself. Every month, 6-8 deluxe samples are delivered to your doorstep!
As always, the box is a drawer-like box that you can reuse! I collected 3, and now they store my samples, future giveaway items for you guys and my tools. VanityTrove boxes are the only boxes that I can reuse. Thanks for taking into account my hoarding obsession, VT! Hahahaha!
This month’s theme is “The Shower of Summer”! First what you’ll see in the box is the info card. The info card tells you a little bit about each product that you get in your box. Then, there’s a Clarin’s 50% discount voucher. You’ll also see an ORIKS brochure.
Light colour all over lid, dark colour in outer corner. GAH MY EYEBROWS!
1. KATE Eyeshadow D8 (RM49)
I’ve reached for this eyeshadow every single day and it’s become my everyday makeup look (picture above). It’s very buttery smooth and very easy to work with. It does have a little bit of a fallout, but nothing too crazy. I love how shimmery (NOT glittery!) this is on the eyes, it’s like you have diamonds on your eyelids :p
2. ORIKS Gemstone Nano Platinum Aqua Watery Cream (RM338/50g)
I was a huge fan of the ORIKS BB Cream from February’s Trove. So I was really excited to see this brand featured again. I like the consistency of this.. it’s in between creamy and watery. It’s very unique. Oh My Goly, it smells incredible!! This is very moisturising and doesn’t leave my skin looking oily.
3. Issey Miyake L’eau D’issey Florale (RM378/80ml)
According to my “knowledge” in French (which is lacking), doesn’t L’eau mean water? Floral water? Is Issey Miyake even French? MOVING ON.. hahaha! This smells really, really nice. I was confused though, ’cause this particular perfume wasn’t in the info card. I’m not typically a floral-scent lover, but this doesn’t smell too strong. It has a nice balance and it smells very fresh and sweet. Definitely a love!
4. KilaDoll Pearl Mask (RM39.90/10pcs)
I love this mask! It is very cooling and smells good too. I can’t say much about masks because I feel like all of them do the same thing but I LOVE masks very much nonetheless. After using this, my skin feels fresh and radiant.
5. Clarins White Plus Intensive Brightening Serum (RM295/30ml)
There are 5 sachets of 1ml each in this box. I’m not typically a serum person, but this is an exception. I love that it’s not too runny, it has a little bit of a thick-liquid consistency. After about 3 sachets, this has noticeably brightened up my face a little bit. This smells so good!!! WHY ARE SERUMS SO EXPENSIVE AND SMALL? :'(
6. Perkins Nail Wrap (RM39.90)
I haven’t tried these yet.. but I might soon! They are polka-dotted tips and super, super fun and cute! I LOVE baby blue, I LOVE glitter, I LOVE polka dots.. so thank you :p
This month’s box was definitely a step-up from last month’s. I think they really upped their game. I am really impressed by this month’s box because there’s a good mix of products: makeup, skincare, nail foils. It’s definitely great for trying out new products. There are also many luxurious brands in there.. like Clarins and Issey Miyake. I’m also happy because the KATE eyeshadow is AMAZING. I’m very satisfied 🙂
