Bag of Love: July 2013

This month's Bag of Love was a HUGE (literally) surprise. This month's theme is "Asia's Beloved Gems" and it features (like the name suggests), all Asian beauty products. I almost didn't subscribe to this bag because I bought the July 2013 Special Edition Bag but I sure am happy I did!

Two kits came outside the bag because it was too big to fit in the cute, little bag. That's always good, right?

Bag of Love July 2013

The bag came in a "kawaii" (you'll never see me say much of that word on my blog, lol), pink bag with some lace. The zipper also has a white ball of puff (lol) on it. This month's bag looks super cute and soft.. but it also looks like a pillow. :/ Lets take a look at what's in the bag!

Bag of Love July 2013 Greeting & Info Card

As always, there is a greeting & info card. This card shows the products that you have in your bag. This month's greeting card has a "kawaii" (there we go again) and demure looking Mi Mi with cat(?) ears, holding up a "peace" sign illustrated on it.

Bag of Love July 2013 Products Overlook

Here is a list of all the products that came in (and out) this month's Bag of Love:
- L'Oreal Liss Ultime Smoothing Shampoo (100ml)
- Aquamoist Moisture Washing Foam
- Polka Dot by Splassh Nail Polish in 22
- Kanebo Freshel BB Cream
- Etude House Aloe Moistfull Skincare Kit (with 4 products in it)
- THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Skincare Kit (with 3 products in it)

Bag of Love July 2013: L'Oreal Liss Ultime Smoothing Shampoo

1) L'Oreal Liss Ultime Smoothing Shampoo (RM50 for 250ml)
I honestly haven't used this yet because I have like 3 bottles of opened shampoo in my shower. So, I can't say much about how it works for my hair, but I have heard so many good reviews on this. I'll probably bring this when I go travel so I don't have to use hotel shampoo (yay!).

Bag of Love July 2013: Aquamoist Moisture Washing Foam

Bag of Love July 2013: Aquamoist Moisture Washing Foam

Bag of Love July 2013: Aquamoist Moisture Washing Foam

2) Aquamoist Moisture Washing Foam (RM36.90 for 120g)
I really like this cleansing wash. All my cleansing foams that I tried are somewhat drying, because they're supposed to strip out excess oil from your face. But this cleansing foam does not dry out my face at all because it is made to moisturise your face. It lathers up very well so you only need a tiny amount to wash your entire face. I love everything about this, except the smell. It has a very weird, indescribable smell LOL.

Bag of Love July 2013: Polka Dot by Splassh Nail Polish in 22

Bag of Love July 2013: Polka Dot by Splassh Nail Polish in 22

3) Polka Dot.. by Splassh (RM7.90-8.90)
I read (from vixendeity) that they had about 50 different shades to be included in this month's bag and there were a lot of glitter ones. I'm so bummed that I got a hot pink shade! It's such a common shade and hot pink looks so bad on me. I wish I had gotten a sparkly one- sigh! The formula is, however, really easy to work with and this polish goes opaque in one coat. I'll never get any use out of it though.

Bag of Love July 2013: Kanebo Freshel BB Cream

Bag of Love July 2013: Kanebo Freshel BB Cream

Bag of Love July 2013: Kanebo Freshel BB Cream

4) Freshel Pore Cover BB Cream (RM59 for 50ml)
This BB Cream reminds me of a western BB Cream eventhough Freshel is under Kanebo (an Asian brand). I like the consistency: it's like the Stila BB Cream (which I really liked the sample). It's a thicker formula and has a smell that Asian BB Creams don't, lol. As you can see, it's a little (who am I kidding?) light for me! It's an okay BB Cream- not the best, not the worst.

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House Moistfull Skincare Kit

5) Etude House ALOE Moistfull Skincare Kit (Full-size range from RM69.90 to RM99.90)
Includes:
- Soothing Lotion
- Soothing Skin
- Soothing Essence
- Soothing Cream

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Lotion

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Lotion

-Soothing Lotion
This smells so good! The whole range does! It smells super fresh and makes me feel all happy! This lotion is something that I always play with (the tester) whenever I'm at Etude House but I never bought because of the price. It feels very light-weight on the skin and is also very moisturising. I'm thinking about getting the full-size now :/

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Skin

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Skin

- Soothing Skin
I use this as a toner and it feels very cooling on the skin. It helps remove all the leftover dirt and makeup that my cleanser didn't do a very good job at. It smells amazing and moisturises my skin as well.

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Essence

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Essence

- Soothing Essence
I use this in place of a serum (right after toner), but I'm not sure what changes to look for, LOL. I don't use serums so... :/

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Cream

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Cream

Bag of Love July 2013: Etude House ALOE Moistfull Soothing Cream

- Soothing Cream
This stuff; I put before I go to bed and it just helps lock in the moisture on my face and keep my skin from drying out due to the AC. Makes me smell all good and fresh at night!

Bag of Love July 2013: THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Skincare Kit

6) THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Special Kit (Full-size range from RM79.90 to RM99.90)
Includes:
- Watery Toner
- Watery Lotion
- Moisture Cream

Bag of Love July 2013: THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Watery Toner

Bag of Love July 2013: THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Watery Toner

- Watery Toner
This toner is VERY moisturising and also smells awesome! I do prefer the Etude House ones over these but my Mum prefers these over the Etude House ones, so it really depends on what you're looking for and what your skin needs.

Bag of Love July 2013: THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Watery Lotion

Bag of Love July 2013: THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Watery Lotion

- Watery Lotion
I do actually feel like this lotion is much heavier than the Etude House one for me, which is weird! Because this is supposed to be a "Watery" lotion. :/ It is really moisturising, I just don't like how it feels on my face (especially in the morning!).

Bag of Love July 2013: THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisture Cream

Bag of Love July 2013: THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Moisture Cream

- Moisture Chia Seed Cream
I LOVE THIS! This works the same as the Etude House Soothing Cream but for protecting my face from the harsh AC, I prefer this one. It really does lock in the moisture on my face and my skin still feels moisturised and soft in the morning.

Final Verdict
I'm very impressed with this month's bag! Even though the total value is super difficult to calculate, you can tell the total value definitely exceeded the bag price of RM39.90 even with just both the Skincare kits! Most of the products in this month's bag worked well for me.

I bought this bag with my own money. This is not a sponsored post.

  1. The bag is so cute! And I do agree with you that hot pink is such a common color, especially during the summer months. Besides, anything with glitter is MUCH more fun anyway!

  6. Ooh just spotted myself in the post! LOL

That's an amazing shade of pink though (and I'm very discriminating when it comes to shades of pink as it's my favourite colour!). Although I have to admit I can't pull off the colour either. When it comes to pinks and peaches, the tone must be absolutely right to flatter my skintone and not make my fingers look... dirty.

BTW I saw your post on your brows, I'm so peeved that after all my lemming I still haven't gone to the Benefit Brow Bar to get them done. I've wanted to for so long, but it's just too far. I just got mine done at Shu Uemura, and the guy plucked my brows to death for what seemed like an hour. Actually, could be literally an hour as he kept pausing to entertain the walk-in customers (he was working alone)

    1. Love your blog! :)

Exactly! That's what this pink does for me. Makes me look sooooo tan that it looks "dirty".

Go on your birthday month to get it for free :p The brow waxing doesn't hurt at all! You've got nothing to lose :p

      Thanks for reading :)
