Hey guys! I know I haven’t published a post in more than two weeks but if you guys follow me on Facebook, I told you guys that I was studying for my exams and also had a new addition to my family- a Yorkie puppy and that we’re trying to adjust to the change as it is our first puppy.
After my short break, I wanted to start off on a happy note! Today’s post is on an international beauty swap that I did with a fellow blogger friend, Stacey from Beautiful Solutions. Definitely click on her link and check out her blog if you don’t read her blog already- I love her product reviews!
We set a £50 budget and off we went shopping! On to the products and mini reviews of each of them. I will do individual reviews on some of these!
She asked me if I wanted anything specific, and I gave her a list of these items: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and the Sleek Oh So Special Palette.
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Celestial
Celestial is a medium dusty pink colour. I’ve heard a ton of great reviews on this product and I LOVE it. It glides on evenly and is opaque in one swipe. It feels very lightweight on the lips and is not sticky at all. The glossiness also stays on for a long time. It does stain the lips a little bit. I definitely want to get more shades, that is, if they ever stock these in Malaysia (sigh!).
I’ve actually gotten a lot of use out of this palette. This is definitely a very versatile palette because it has some soft, girly shades and also darker shades to smoke out your look- very travel friendly too! The shadows are buttery and pigmented, except some of the light shades. It has a matte highlight shade and a matte black- what more can you ask for in a palette?
Then she got me her favourite Bourjois products: Bourjois Cream Blush in 02, Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in 04 Peach on the Beach and 01 Red Sunrise.
Bourjois Cream Blush in 02
02 is a light peach colour in the pan, but somehow shows up a bit more coral on my skin. This blush has a cream to powder formula. It’s now my go-to blush! This blush feels very light on the skin and blends so seamlessly into the skin. It also stays on the skin for a long time.
Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in 01 Red Sunrise & 04 Peach on the Beach
04 Peach on the Beach is a beautiful light coral-pink colour that is right up my alley! I love corals on my lips!
01 Red Sunrise is a beautiful bold pinkish-red colour. This is a beautiful shade especially if you’re like me and too intimidated by a bold red lipstick! In different lights, it shows either red or pink.
The formula of these are so nice- they just glide on the lips so smoothly and nice! It takes a few swipes if you want a completely opaque look. However, these did stain my lips but I don’t really mind.
MUA time! (left to right): Blush in Cupcake, Lolly, Candyfloss, and Cream Blush in Dolly.
Cupcake is a light, baby pink colour. Lolly is a beautiful light, peachy colour. Candyfloss shows up pink, but has a little bit of a purple tint in it. Dolly is a coral-peach colour.
I love the formula of both the powder and cream blushes. The powder blushes are very buttery, soft and pigmented. The cream blush blends out really well! I still need to play with these a little bit more though.
More MUA (left to right): MUA Eyeshadow Trio in Innocence, MUA Lipstick in 07 and 03.
MUA Eyeshadow Trio in Innocence
All the shadows in this are shimmery. There is a highlight colour, an olive green and a burnt copper that reflects turquoise.
MUA Lipstick in 07 and 03
07 is a bright, frosty coral (YES!!) that glides on the lips beautifully.
03 is a bright, fuschia pink colour. I’ve always wanted to try a fuschia pink lipstick!
The formula of these, again, are amazingly smooth and pigmented.
Cult Favourite!: Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in 03 Medium
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 03 Medium
This is sadly too light for me to be used as an all-over face concealer. This is, however, amazing as my undereye concealer! The coverage is super high, and it doesn’t crease. The wear time is also amazing!
Left to Right: George Blush in Sorbet, George Blush in Rosey.
George Blush in Rosey & Sorbet
Rosey (left swatch) is a super light pink colour. Sorbet (right swatch) is a peachy colour.
We did include candy in our box too, which unfortunately, all couldn’t make it to this stage. LOL. I’ll update you guys on the name because I can’t remember them.
Thank you so much to Stacey for doing this swap with me! I absolutely loved everything and I hope you liked everything I sent you too. To check out what I sent her, check out her blog post.
Thanks for reading, xoxo
