My Sweet&Sour Eyelash Extensions Experience @ Pink Passion

Hey guys! Today I’m going to share my experience of getting my first ever eyelash extensions done at Pink Passion. I got this opportunity from a fellow blogger friend, Cindy, because she was asking if anyone wanted to review eyelash extensions and I jumped at the opportunity because who wouldn’t want to look sexay with fluttery, butterfly lashes?
I’ve read a ton of awesome reviews on bloggers’ experiences at Pink Passion.. but my personal experience was a little bit sweet and sour (? LOL). Do take note that I went with my mum, and one of her friends because they wanted to get eyelash extensions too- so I get an overview of how they treat their customers.
This post is a long time coming because I wanted to tell you guys about the whole process (touch ups, removing, etc).

When I went into Pink Passion, I was in a great mood because I knew I’d come out having lashes that I’ve always wanted. The place was beautiful and cozy, with a beautiful chandelier (there’s just something about chandeliers that I love). There was a nice waiting area too, so you can bring your boyfriends :p.
So, for demonstration purposes, I’m using my mum as my model for today!
Looks like she’s getting something done to her face, LOL.
They glue the extensions on top of your natural eyelash instead of the lashline (the girl said it was because if you place it on your eyelid, and when your natural eyelashes grow out, your lid will become swollen and irritated). They stick one branch on one of your eyelashes and that makes one of your eyelash branch out to three (this is confusing..). You can also see that the length is almost double her natural eyelashes and it gives a nice curl.
This is the result of my eyelash extension and it looks fabulous, I love it!
When I first got it done, it didn’t actually feel too uncomfortable (it felt more comfortable than wearing falsies, to me). So I went home, all happy and excited to show my boyfriend, haha! Then, after about 5 days, the inner corners of my eyes started to itch so bad that made me scratch till my eyelid was irritated. So I went back to Pink Passion and the girl told me it’s because the eyelash extensions have loosen up, which frustrated me because I have tried my hardest to not touch it and to keep it away from water.. for the whole time, I didn’t even wear makeup. But then I thought about it, and maybe it’s because I wear glasses at night after I take out my contacts, and maybe it keeps poking it, resulting in the loosening, so I was okay with that and continued with my touch up.
This is the coupon (which you guys can use if you want. Just download it and print it out and redeem at Pink Passion), but basically, please take a look at their Terms & Conditions.
After a month, it was so loose it was hurting me, so I decided to go for removal. THIS is where the “sour” part starts. Again, my mum, her friend and I went to Pink Passion. My mum and I wanted to get our eyelash extensions removed and her friend wanted to get it retouched.
That’s when all the “sour” parts happened. I’m going to be brutally honest and I’m not gonna lie, it was a pretty annoying situation for us. I’m sorry if I sound rude or whatnot in the following paragraphs to come, but I hope that you could put yourself in my situation.
So we walked in, and told the girl that we wanted to get our lashes removed and this was our dialogue:
Me: Hi, we want to remove our extensions.
Girl: HUH, REMOVE 要钱的噢 (HUH, you need to pay to remove the extensions)
Me: …….
Mum: …. How much?
Girl: RM50
Mum: WHAT! Nevermind then, I’ll remove it myself at home.
Girl: Your natural lashes will fall out.
Okay, I feel like this is literally fraud. As you can see in the coupons that I attached above, there was nothing about removal charges. They also never told us about this when we got it done. My mum’s friend has done many eyelash extensions before and has never been asked to PAY for REMOVING the extensions. I feel like they’re literally making you pay the RM50 to remove because I mean, if you don’t, your natural lashes will fall out!
*My mum’s friend has gone to another saloon to remove, and eventhough she didn’t get her extensions done THERE, they only charged her RM10!
I never read about this removing fee from blogger reviews and that annoys the heck out of me.. it’s not because the bloggers weren’t honest about it.. it’s not even their fault. It’s because they weren’t told about it. The only reason I found out was because I brought my mum and her friend with me. This got me so pissed off because I feel like they should have disregarded this information onto bloggers so we could let our readers know about the fee. I think that they knew it was a very unreasonable price.
And then, my mum’s friend went to get her touch ups the same time we went to get ours removed. The girl again said that there would be an RM50 charge to touch up because she didn’t get her touch ups in that one week period. This is ok, because it was written on the voucher “7 day satisfaction guarantee”.
My point is, RM88 for eyelash extensions is a super great deal, right? But try needing a touch up after the one week period, and then removing the extensions.. that costs you a whopping RM188!
I hate writing bad reviews- I really hope they can take this as constructive criticism.
I will, however, end this post on a happy note. My mum’s friend did say that the eyelash extensions from Pink Passion lasted a lot longer than normal ones, and I agree that the extensions look fabulously beautiful!

What do you guys think of this situation? Am I making too much out of it?

i had them done a couple of times before and i had no problem.
i think the problem in your case was caused by the type of lashes they use. individual lashes are much safer and look more natural not to mention they feel comfortable on. you also want to watch out what kind of glue they use as well.
too shame they didn’t last as long and caused pain to you.
i’d recommend Nova lash or any salon that carries mink lashes. 🙂

Hmm, I’ve never heard of Mink eyelash extensions before, only the false eyelashes. Definitely something I’m interested in. Thank you so much 🙂

I agree wholeheartedly with you. It sounds like one of those “read between the lines” ploys that companies use to cheat people of their money. Its good that she still has good things to say because everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and someone else could have a completely different experience.

I wonder what would have happened if I actually recommended the place to people before I found out about the removal costs and they went and did it, and came out paying RM138 or even worse, RM188!

    • November 12, 2013 / 2:59 pm

Definitely! I really hope that the owners take this as constructive, and tells bloggers about the removal costs too. Thanks for reading 🙂

I didn’t remove mine with them because I was so lazy to drive all the way there hence I pull it off by myself LOL I didn’t know about their removal costs as well, only knew that after 2 months I’ve removed mine by myself. She didn’t tell us >.< I think most of the bloggers don't know they have this costs as well.

    • November 12, 2013 / 3:11 pm

Yeah, because they didn’t tell the bloggers. I hope that after this, they will tell their future bloggers, because this is kind of like cheating already.

Hrm, i wasn’t charged removal fee even doing twice..

tho it seems normal to charge a removal fee (just like doing gel manicure ppl usually charge a removal fee) but RM50 is exorbitant and it should be written on the T&C.. sorry to hear about your sour experience..

I asked her why bloggers aren’t told about the removal fee so they could tell their readers and she said it’s because they are sponsoring the bloggers. I just feel like, this is a pretty crucial information to feed to your readers, so they don’t get ripped off with the actual RM138 price tag instead of RM88.

yeah wor… and it’;s quite compulsory to get someone to remove for you, because unlike the natural individual lashes, this one is harder to fall off….
