Hey everyone! Here’s another one of my “Best of 2013” posts! Check out my Best of 2013: Makeup post if you haven’t. Today’s post is on my favourite skincare products of 2013! I’ve tried a ton of skincare products in 2013, but I honestly haven’t found that many favourites. The ones that I did find, however, are spectacular!
Do keep in mind that I have combination skin and I get super oily around my T-zone, so if you have dry skin, not all these products will work for you. I hope you guys enjoy nonetheless 🙂
Juice Beauty Cleansing Gel (Price N/A)
I got deluxe sample size from my Modbox February 2013 box and it lasted me quite a while! I absolutely adore this stuff- it removes all the impurities and left-over makeup on my face, yet doesn’t feel super “squeaky-cleanly-dry”, y’know? It leaves my skin so smooth and it doesn’t have any fragrance in it.
TheFaceShop Rice Water Cleansing Water ($16 on Cosme-De.com, RM39.90 in TFS outlets)
I love this cleansing water! It removes all my makeup, even my mascara (but it does take some rubbing if the mascara is waterproof). It feels very nice and makes my face feel smooth and look brighter. Because it is a cleansing water, it doesn’t feel oily on the face and doesn’t clog up my pores. The only downside would probably have to be the size of the product, because this finished really really fast.
Bio-essence Tanaka White Cleansing Foam ($11.70 on Sasa.com)
I have been using this cleanser for almost 2 years now and I absolutely love it! This is one of the better cleansing foams out there- it doesn’t dry out my face, it smells awesome (does have fragrance, though), and it makes my face super clean. Also, it doesn’t break me out, so that’s a plus!
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant ($52 on Dermstore.com)
If you follow my blog for quite some time now, you’d know that I LOVE this scrub. It is super gentle, doesn’t have a fragrance to it and works amazing! It’s gentle enough to use every single day, but I use it every other day. It takes away all my dead skin, and keeps my skin feeling super smooth! Click to read my full review and demo!
St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub ($2.99 on Target.com)
This is a great scrub, especially with the price tag of $2.99. It’s definitely not as gentle as the Dermalogica one, so I only use it once every three days or so. This also makes my face feel super smooth, but it’s a little bit harder to wash off.
Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner ($13.46/500ml on Koreadepart.com)
Quite some time ago, I did a “Brand Spotlight” post on Etude House showing you my collection and also my favourites from them. This toner was in my favourites list and I still love it to pieces now! I LOVE using this in the morning- it’s super cooling and it takes away all the shine that I get in the morning. I also love that it comes in a pump bottle!
Nature’s Beauty New Zealand Thermal Mud Mask ($8.28 on Ashop.co.nz)
My mum’s friend from NZ actually got this for me. This applies super smooth and doesn’t feel too tight when it’s dried. After washing off with water, my skin feels super clean and nice. It does have a little fragrance to it (in this case, I love) so it doesn’t have that “mud mask” smell.
O’slee Honey Sugar Mask ($17 on Sasa.com)
This can be used as a face scrub or a mask. I love it both as a face scrub, and as a mask. As a face scrub, it is a very gentle sugar scrub. It’s the middle ground between the Dermalogica and the St Ives one. As a mask, after washing it off, it makes my face feel clean and hydrated. This has a very sweet honey scent to it. I LOVE the packaging of this- super cute!
Etude House Collagen Moistfull Sleeping Pack ($8.49 on Koreadepart.com)
I’ve tried many different sleeping masks now and this must be my favourite! It is a jelly-like consistency cream that applies super thick on the face. Eventhough it is very thick on the face, it doesn’t feel heavy and it also doesn’t make your hair stick to it (which I love!). After washing it off the next day, my skin feels really moisturised. Great for winter time!
The Face Shop Clean Face Clear Away Spot ($10.90 on Sasa.com)
This is an acne spot treatment which you dip a cotton bud into the powder that settles at the bottom (do not shake or mix up the contents!) and dab it on whatever spot you have on your face. It dries out pulsating (ew) pimples the next morning.
So, those are my favourite skincare products of 2013. As you can see, I missed out a lot of categories (like moisturiser and eye cream) because I simply haven’t found any that blew my mind, so if you have any suggestions, please leave it in the comments!
