Remember when I did my first Shop My Makeup Stash post? It was supposed to be a bi-weekly thing but that didn’t happen, huh.. The “Shop My Makeup Stash” series is basically me choosing a few products from my existing collection that I haven’t used in a long time, and try them out for a week. At the end of the week, I will post a Final Look and also short reviews on those products. My first post did receive quite a number of good feedback, and it’s a great way to use things up and rediscover some products that I really loved before; so here’s Week 2.
Etude House CC Cream in Silky
If I remember it correctly, there are two different formulas for these Etude House CC Creams – Silky, and the other one is Glow. I picked up Silky because it’s supposed to give a more natural, matte look instead of a glow. I do naturally have really oily skin so I like more of a matte finish. When I first got this, I used it a lot until I realised that this is too light for me. The problem is, there aren’t different shades available because a CC Cream is actually white, and it blends into your skintone after you apply it. This one gave my face a white cast and I stopped using it. Hopefully I can find a way to make this work. Fingers crossed!
Anna Sui Whipped Eyeshadow in #200
Not sure if this is still available, but I actually got it from a warehouse sale some time last year I believe. It’s a creamy, “whipped”-texture eyeshadow. The shade is a beautiful, light lilac lavender colour with tons of shimmer! I don’t wear this a lot because it has too much shimmer for everyday wear in my opinion.
Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial
I got this from my international beauty swap from the UK, and I used it so much when I first got it. The formula is beautiful and glossy, but I don’t find myself reaching for it too much because it’s definitely something that you have to be careful when you’re applying because it’s so opaque. It is a beautiful rosy pink colour and I think I’ll fall in love with this all over again when I try it this week.
Maybelline Diamond Glow Quad in 06 Lilac Mauve
I think you guys can tell that I was really into purple eye looks at one period of time. I remember being pretty disappointed with the pigmentation of these eyeshadows, but I guess we’ll see. It does come with some beautiful, shimmery shades of purple.
Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef
I bought this back when everyone was talking about these and they were all the hype. I haven’t really tried it out enough to know what I think about it because I used to apply this with my fingers because I didn’t have a stippling brush to apply cream blushes with and these are so hard to blend with fingers. I do have a brush to use with this now, and I hope I’ll like it!
So those are the products that I’ve chosen for this week, and I’ll update you guys on how well (or not) they work at the end of the week! If you’ve tried any of these products, tell me what you think about them in the comments!
Thanks for reading, xoxo
