I have been eyeing the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes on SH’s Instagram page for a loooooong time before I finally saw these on stands in a local drugstore. I was super excited, and seeing that the price tag isn’t too steep (about RM30-ish, was on sale for RM25ih), I picked up two colours: Pretty Piggy, and Grey Matters. I love the look of super glossy nails, but hate the idea of spending so much money to get gel nails at a salon.
Pretty Piggy is a bright, coral pink creme. Swatched is two coats, with no topcoat.
Grey Matters is a blue-based grey creme. Swatched is two coats, with no topcoat.
I had really high expectations for these polishes but thankfully, they didn’t disappoint. The shades I’ve tried so far are amazing! They are very smooth and glides evenly across the nail. They are the perfect consistency and reaches maximum opacity at two coats. Grey Matters could be a one-coater too! These have super glossy finishes and definitely gives you the look of gel nails without going to the salon or having to dry gel nails under a UV lamp.
I love the packaging of these nail polishes. The cap has a band that matches each of the colours perfectly (totally not necessary, but I love how they look). The brush on these polishes work really well for me too. They are shorter and wider so it covers evenly and a large amount of surface area at once.
With these, the longevity is amazing. I usually get chips around the second day mark with some nail polishes just because I type a lot, but these were chip-free even on the fourth day of wear. They started showing some wear and tear on the fifth day mark, but if I applied a topcoat, they could’ve stayed perfect for maybe a week.
I had such high hopes for these, and usually when that happens, it usually disappoints, but these I absolutely love! They have a great selection of colours, from nudes to brights, and they are so affordable. I definitely recommend these if you’re looking for super glossy, affordable and long lasting nail polishes. I have already picked up a red shade, and also their topcoat (which I might review in a separate post).
I have been reaching for these so much, especially when I have no idea which nail polish I should wear. Have you tried the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel range? What are your favourite shades?
