NARS has done it once again! They teamed up with world-renowned fashion designer, Christopher Kane on a beautiful and bright collection. This collection consists of all neon colours, all of which are very wearable and thus the term NEONEUTRALS (neon-neutrals) was born. These neon colours are all formulated to be bright but sheer and extremely wearable.
The collection consists of 9 new products – 4 lip glosses, an eyeshadow duo, a blush, a bronzer, and a multiple. I think there is another multiple that comes in the colletion, but is not available here in Malaysia. The whole collection looks gorgeous, but I will only review the items that I have and have personally used. I have three of the products to show you and tell you more about them in-depth – the blush in Starscape, the multiple in Violet Atom, and the lip gloss in Nucleus!

NARS x Christopher Kane Starscape Blush is a bright, matte pink shade in the pan. Since it is a sheer formula, it goes on the cheeks as a pop of pink and is great for every day wear. If you want that neon hot pink colour on your cheeks, you can build it up to the colour that it shows in the pan. The formula of this blush is absolutely amazing! It’s a drier formula so it doesn’t feel buttery or creamy but it doesn’t cling to dry skin or apply patchy on the skin. This has been my favourite go-to summer blush because it just gives a beautiful pop of pink without going overboard.

NARS x Christopher Kane Illuminating Multiple in Violet Atom is a pinky-violet duochrome multiple that you can use anywhere on the face. It’s a sheer pink shimmery shade that shifts to a beautiful violet in certain lighting and angles. I’ve tried this on my eyes, cheeks and lips but my favourite is using it as a face highlighter. It’s not super creamy like the rest of NARS’ multiples, but it’s a drier, waxy multiple that dries to an almost powdery feel on the skin. I’ve been using this most days as well. Since I have combination skin, I make sure to use a matte foundation to mattify my face and then put shine where I want with this baby right here! It’s gorgeous.

NARS x Christopher Kane Lip Gloss in Nucleus is a light, peachy-nude glossy shade with no shimmer or sparkle. I have medium, yellow-undertone skin, and this shade looks horrible on me when worn alone. I do like wearing this over a really bright lip to tone it down a bit but I don’t find myself reaching for it too much. The formula, however, feels light on the lips and it’s not sticky, but I find that the product clings on the fine lines of my lips even when my lips are moisturised. This is probably my least favourite out of the three that I’ve got to try.

Overall, I really like the look of this collection and the products that I have (excluding the lip gloss) works well on me. If you’re thinking of getting some things from this collection, my first choice recommendation would be the Starscape blush. It might look like an intimidating colour, but it is gorgeous on the cheeks! And of course, the Violet Atom multiple is really good too 🙂
I think this NEONEUTRAL concept is really great and I would love to see more collections like this – fun and bright, yet still wearable. What do you think of the NARS x Christopher Kane collection, and what’s your favourite product from the line?
