Hi guys! Today, along with a bunch of other bloggers, we are starting the Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge! This is basically a weekly makeup challenge that each of us will create a makeup look inspired by one Greek Goddess each week. If you would like to join in, shoot me an email at [email protected], with the subject “Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge”.
I’m not very good at makeup honestly, but I do love it and I love reading up on Greek Mythology! I also love putting on makeup so I thought it would be fun to do a Greek Goddess Makeup Challenge. Today, we’re starting off with one of the most famous Greek Goddesses – the Goddess of Love & Beauty, Aphrodite!
My look is mostly inspired by Aphrodite’s representation of beauty and sex. For the face, I drew up little hearts (or fail hearts) as a symbol of love. I wanted to make it sort of like the signature “X-Factor CeCe Frey leopard marks” but it turns out I’m not very good at drawing little hearts on the face at all.. haha. I also did a blue gradient starting from my neck all the way up to just under my lips. This is a representation of the story of Aphrodite who “arose from the sea”. For the eyes, I did a smokey-sexy cranberry, gold and black makeup look to show Aphrodite’s representation of sexy. For the lips, I did heart lips to of course, also represent love (because I’m just that creative… haha).
