Keeping your skin happy is essential – it not only shows by giving you great skin, it keeps you healthy and makes you feel happy. I’m not saying that keeping your skin healthy is going to magically erase all break outs, or unclog your pores in a day, but it’s going to give you the best skin that you can have without pills. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
This is such an important point in taking care of your skin! Water helps to flush out toxins from your body that might not just be causing break outs on your face, but also making your body unhealthy. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day (more than 1.5litres) will help get rid of acne and also make your skin hydrated and feel plump. Other than hydrating orally, using a great moisturiser on your face is also essential. If you have dry skin, use a cream moisturiser. If you have oily skin, use a water-based moisturiser to hydrate your skin without producing more oil on your face.
Healthy Diet & Exercise
A healthy diet is basically making sure you’re eating a balanced diet. It’s actually a myth that fatty food causes acne, but cutting down on fatty food will make your body healthier, in turn making your skin look healthy and glowy. Stress plays a big role in acne, so exercise is a good way to destress. When you’re exercising, you release endorphins which are feel-good chemicals that will help you destress, keeping stress break outs away.
Taking Off Your Makeup
This is so, so, so important! No matter how tired or lazy you are by the end of the day, always, always take off your makeup! If you don’t take off your makeup, the makeup and dirt from the day will clog your pores and cause break outs. Keep a pack of makeup removing wipes by your bed, and if you’re really tired, just use a wipe! Using a makeup wipe on a day to day basis is not enough to cleanse your face.
