Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick & Lip Lacquer

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick & Lip Lacquer
I saw the Revlon Ultra HD range when they were first released and I’ve heard mixed reviews about this product but I was still excited for these to finally be launched in Malaysia (they launched here two months ago). The thought of highly-pigmented, wax-free, lightweight, long lasting lip products brought out the lip junkie in me. I got to try out the Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus, and the Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in Pink Ruby, and I had really high hopes for these! So lets get into the review 🙂

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladioulus

The Ultra HD Lipsticks are meant to have rich pigmentation and dry to a matte finish. Gladiolus is a pink-based red. The pigmentation of this is good but the formula of these aren’t super creamy and they are pretty dry as you can see from the swatch above. It shows my lip lines a lot (even with lip balm on!) and even the lines on the back of my hands lol! Because these are dry, they don’t feel sticky on the lips but they are surprisingly lightweight. This one I have definitely doesn’t dry matte, it has a little bit of a shine so I would say it’s more satiny. This is very long lasting, and also leaves a stain on your lips, but the product does settle onto the fine lines of my lips after a while which is a huge no-no for me!
Eventhough the pigmentation is good, and it feels lightweight on the lips, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this if you have dry lips or fine lines on your lips. If that’s not a problem for you and you’re looking for a great long lasting lipstick, then this might be a good product for you.

Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in Pink Ruby

Here’s my Heart-shaped Lip Swatch based on the Revlon #LOVEISON campaign 🙂
Retails for:
These Ultra HD Lip Lacquers are supposed to pack a punch with colour, stay on the lips throughout the day, and dry with a super glossy finish. This lip lacquer features a brush applicator, which I find is better than a doe-foot one. Pink Ruby is a hot pink with purple microshimmer suspended throughout it. The pigmentation of this is holyshiz amazing, and as you can see, the glitter is very noticeable and gorgeous! The formula of this is a little thicker, but it still applies very smooth and evenly. It’s not sticky at all, it has a very slick feel on the lips. However, because the formula is thicker, you can definitely feel it on your lips. I also learned that this stains like crazy the hard way (removing the heart swatch and having to go out to dinner with heart-shaped stained lips is not pretty.. haha). This also doesn’t accentuate the lines in my lips, yay! This is definitely a glossy product, but after eating and drinking, the glossyness does wear off.
All in all though, I think the Ultra HD Lip Lacquer is an amazing product for maybe an event that you want a lot of colour that will last you throughout the day. This colour in Pink Ruby definitely isn’t an every day shade for me, but I do reach for this pretty often. However, if thick lip lacquers bother you, steer clear of these!
Have you tried any of the Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks or Lip Lacquers? What are your favourite shades?
