Best Budget Beauty Buys
I love to pamper and spoil myself with a little bit of high end beauty products some times, but I’m a drugstore beauty girl at heart. Drugstore beauty brands have stepped up their game so much since I started this blog. Some drugstore beauty products are very comparable to, if not better than high end beauty products with just a fraction of the price. Being the makeup hoarder that I am, I like that I can get 5 different makeup products from the drugstore rather than just one from luxury brands.
So in this post, I’ve rounded up some of the best cheap drugstore makeup which are all under $10 (except maybe one?), and I have products for the face, eyes and lips! Hopefully this will save you some monies and give you some ideas on what to get during your next makeup run 🙂

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (Dewy Finish) – Buy online: Boots (UK), Priceline (AU)
This foundation has micro shimmers in it and I know that sounds like terror for oily skin, but the effect this foundation gives is actually pretty darn stunning! I typically don’t go for dewy finishes but for some reason I picked this up, used it, and LOVED it. When I use this, my face looks radiant and glowy (not greasy and shiny) and it just makes my whole face look fresh. Like the name suggests, it’s a great “wake me up” foundation!
Revlon Colorstay Foundation (Matte Finish) – Buy online: Walmart (US), Boots (UK), Priceline (AU), Watsons (MY)
This is my favourite drugstore foundation of all time ever since I started wearing makeup. This is a heavy duty, high coverage foundation that I always reach for when I need my makeup to stay in place all day. I have combination oily skin, and this keeps my face completely matte until I take it off at the end of the day. It also covers all blemishes completely, and not to mention they have a HUGE (and I mean HUUUUUGE) selection of colours!
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – Buy online: Boots (UK)
This is a little harder to find because it’s not readily available in some parts of the world but if you do come across it, and you’re looking for an affordable, high coverage, creamy concealer that doesn’t crease, pick this up! It’s great for under the eyes, and also great for blemishes.
Designer Brands CC Concealer Pen – Buy online: DB Cosmetics (Worldwide)
I haven’t heard much about this probably because it’s not available in drugstores all over the world, but only in Australia and New Zealand. The Australian website does ship worldwide though. This concealer has an amazing brightening effect and I love using it under my eyes and also as a highlight on the high points of my face. It gives the most naturally radiant glow, and feels lightweight on the skin. The coverage is not that great though, but overall still an amazing highlighting “concealer”.

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer – Buy online: Target (US), Boots (UK), Priceline (AU)
I actually picked this up because many people compared this to the Benefit Porefessional and that’s my favourite primer to smooth the skin. However, I don’t’ find that this is as smoothing as the Benefit Porefessional, but I use this under my foundation every day. This keeps my foundation in place longer than the Benefit Porefessional and it’s waaaay cheaper!
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – Buy online: Target (Worldwide), Boots (UK), Priceline (AU)
This stuff is AMAZING! I don’t think this is available in Malaysia because I couldn’t find it anywhere for the past two years lol. I got one from my swap with Stacey a few years back, and a new one three months ago while I was in Australia. This is amazing for keeping my oily skin matte for a loooong time. I always get the shade Translucent and it doesn’t cake up my face or make it look powdery. It feels light and makes my face feel really smooth.
Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder – Buy online: Priceline (AU)
I think Australis is only available in Australia and maybe New Zealand but if you ever see it, grab it! They have a couple of shades available and the one I have suits my skintone perfectly. The powder itself is very finely-milled and feels very smooth on the skin. This is my go-to powder when I want a little more coverage than my BB cream offers or when a foundation is slightly lighter than my skin. It makes the skin look airbrushed – flawless is right!

Essence Soo Glow! in 20 Bright Up Your Life
I picked this up when I was in Australia based on a thousand and one recommendations! It’s a cream to powder highlighter and it’s the most natural looking highlighter I’ve ever tried. It does have a little bit of shimmer, but on the face it just looks like a healthy glow. It dries down well, but doesn’t feel powdery or greasy.
Physician’s Formula Happy Booster in Rose – Buy online: Ulta (US), HealthJunction (UK), Physician’s Formula (AU)
I also picked this up when I was in Australia because it was 40% off haha! This is a beautiful highlighting blush. It has microshimmers in it and gives a beautiful healthy glow to the face. I can get away with skipping the highlighter when I wear this.
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso – Buy online: Walgreens (US), BeautyCrowd (UK), Target (Worldwide)
You’ve probably heard about this blush before because everybody raves about it! It’s a light peachy shade with a beautiful shimmer. This is another one of those highlighting blushes, but the way I use this is I actually pair this with whatever blush I’m wearing that day. I put the blush on my cheeks and then put this slightly higher, near the cheek bone area and it gives me a beautiful glow without being too crazy. I’ve done a full review on this before, click here to read!

elf Eyebrow Kit in Medium – Buy online: elfcosmetics (US, UK, AU)
This product is my brows. Literally. I use it every single day because without it, from a distance, you can’t see them at all. I’ve tried a ton of different eyebrow products but I always come back to this one because this gives my brows the softest look. This kit has a powder and a wax, but I only use the powder and I set my brows with a gel from a different brand.
ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows – Buy online: ColourPop (US, AU)
These ColourPop eyeshadows are the. best. eyeshadows. I’ve ever tried! For $5 each, their pigmentation and lasting power is amazing! Honestly, I’d pay the price of a MAC shadow for the quality of these. They are buttery and blend like a dream.
Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara – Buy online: Target (Worldwide)
This is still by far my favourite drugstore mascara. It gives me tons of volume and length. I did a whole review on it, which you can read here.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Nude Eyeliner – Buy online: Ulta (US), Boots (UK), Priceline (AU), Target (Worldwide)
This is an every day staple for me because I have to get up super early for uni and this is my go-to secret weapon to look awake and less like a zombie. I just put this on my waterline for that bright, awake, fresh look.

ColourPop Lippie Stix & Ultra Matte Lips – Buy online: ColourPop (US, AU)
I love me some ColourPop! I ordered a couple of products from them while I was in Australia (haul post here if you’re interested!). My every day uni lip shade is the ColourPop Lippie Stix in Brink and it’s super comfortable and easy to wear. If I want a bolder lip look, I go for their Ultra Matte Lips for that super intense lip that lasts all day.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams – Buy online: Ulta (US), Boots (UK), Target (Worldwide)
The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams have been one of my favourite lip products ever since I got them. They are a very smooth, lightweight matte lip cream that dries to a gorgeous velvet finish on the lips. They’re not the longest lasting, but because they don’t feel drying, I don’t mind reapplying after a couple of hours. They also have a great variety of shades!
Maybelline Electro Pops – Buy online: Maybelline (US), Priceline (AU)
These are tinted lip balms with a lot of colour payoff. On days when I don’t feel like wearing lipstick, I throw one of these on and call it a day. They give a beautiful wash of colour while hydrating the lips. For an in-depth review of these, check here!
Those are some amazing budget beauty buys that won’t make your wallet cry too much. I’m a firm believer in the fact that quality doesn’t necessarily have to be defined by the price you pay for a certain product. What’s your favourite drugstore gem? Let me know in the comments!
