Beige Chuu Stick Foundation

Beige Chuu Stick Foundation
Stick foundations are something that I’ve always wanted to like, but after trying one I’d say maybe 4 or 5 years ago, I just try to avoid them because of that waxy, unblendable mess. To be fair, the makeup game has changed drastically over the past 5 years and stick foundations are currently on an all-time-high, with every brand coming out with their version of it. After all that time, I’ve finally found a stick foundation that I like in the Beige Chuu Stick Foundation.

Shade

The Beige Chuu Stick Foundation currently only comes in three shades, which is a huge issue in Asian brands. I was sent the middle shade, called #402 – 21P (Light Pink), which is way too light and too pink for my skin tone. Asian brands have a somewhat similar shade number, no matter what brand the foundation is. I’m usually a shade 23 in Asian brand foundations, and I’m NC30-35. Shade 21 is usually good for NC20-25 skin.

Even though the colour was way too light for me, I was determined to try out the formula of this product, so I wore it on days where I wasn’t leaving the house. I’ve tried it for a good 5 or 6 times now, which has given me a solid opinion on this product. If I am leaving the house, I put on a heck lot of bronzer around my face to warm up my complexion so I don’t look dead. I think you’d be able to tell in the picture above how different it is to my natural skintone because I didn’t apply any foundation onto my neck. Now that you’ve seen it, can you unsee it?

Formula

The formula of this foundation is sooo nice. It is very creamy and you can either dab it on your face or swipe the stick over your face and then blend it in with a brush or sponge. The foundation blends very easily into the skin and doesn’t look streaky or cakey. One thing about this foundation is that you have to moisturise your face (especially if you have dry skin) prior to applying it because it will cling onto the dry patches on your skin, which I feel like is something every foundation does any way. This foundation has a light to medium coverage. I love the fresh, dewy finish this foundation gives too!

Longevity

This foundation is one that you will have to prime and set. I find that the longevity of this product is not very good – it can only last around 2-3 hours and then it’ll start to slide off the oily parts of my face. If you have oily skin, this is a foundation that you WILL set any way, because of it’s dewy nature and how those tend to get and look oily very fast.
All in all, I really like this foundation if I prime and set my face, which is a not a huge deal breaker for me just because I do prime and set my face whenever I do my makeup any way. I love that this is so easy to use, mess-free, and glides on my skin easily without any tugging. With the super blendable formula, and gorgeous finish, I’d definitely repurchase a shade that actually matches my skin tone!
This retails for $35, and you can get it on Chuu.
Pros:
