Today I have one of Korea’s best-selling anti-aging creams to review, but is it all it’s cracked up to be? This is the Gobdi Goun 24K Golden Placenta Power Cream. This cream contains many amazing ingredients including, but not limited to: 600mg Australian Sheep Placenta, 99.9% 24K Gold, Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, Hyaluronic Acid, and more.
600mg Australian Sheep Placenta
The star ingredient of this face cream is the Australian Sheep Placenta that is purebred in a pollution-free environment. Sheep placenta has amazing effects on the skin and body while consumed as a supplement. It’s not different being used as a face cream. Sheep placenta has the ability to moisturise, promote collagen growth, enhance skin elasticity and firmness, and also prevents wrinkles and fine lines.
99.9% 24K Gold
Used in skincare, gold is known to help drain the skin of toxins and brightens up the complexion. Not only that, it also helps to cleanse and stimulate skin whitening – resulting in translucent, bright skin.
47% Centella Asiatica Extract and Fermented Yeast
Both these ingredients work together to regenerate and repair damaged cells, moisturises skin and repels fine lines and wrinkles. This will result in smooth, bright skin.
Aloe Vera, Sunflower Seed Oil, Shea Butter, and Hyaluronic Acid
All of these products are well known for their moisturising properties. The Sunflower Seed Oil and Shea Butter is good for intense hydration of the skin, whereas the aloe vera and hyaluronic acid works to seal in the skin moisture. Not only that, hyaluronic acid is also good for balancing the oil secretion on the skin.
Can we just stop and admire the packaging for a bit? This is literally one of the fanciest packaging on a skincare product I’ve seen. The outer packaging entirely gold in colour, and has gorgeous detailing on the bottom. When I first got this, it took me a while to get this open. It’s actually a screw cap in which you unscrew to show the actual frosted glass container the product is housed in (which definitely isn’t as pretty, but oh well).
The consistency of the product itself is a very light, gel-like texture. It spreads very easily and evenly across the skin. You can see the little gold flakes in the product, and let me tell you, there’s A LOT of it. The product sinks into the skin in a short amount of time. Not only that, it feels very cooling and refreshing on the skin. Also, it feels super luxurious when being applied to the face. I mean, I’m literally smothering gold on my face. Haha. The actual gold flakes does melt into nothing, so don’t worry about looking like a glitter bug. However, it does leave your face with a really beautiful glow.
I don’t know if it has improved the elasticity of my skin because I’ve never had any major problems with skin elasticity. The thing I really, really liked about this product is how it made my skin look overall. It does a wonderful job at moisturising, and combined with the glowiness that the gold leaves, makes my skin look very healthy and radiant. This is something I love applying in the morning because I always look super sleepy. This is a great little “boost” to make my skin appear radiant like I’ve gotten 312342 hours of sleep from like a sleep curse or something (too much Once Upon a Time for me).
This product is great if you have problems with uneven skintone, and dull skin. This is especially good if you have those problems coupled with oily/combo skin because of how lightweight yet moisturising the cream is. If you have dry skin, you might need to double it with another moisturiser or sleeping mask of some sort to really moisturise your skin.
