Lafine Vegetable Firming Massage Cream

Kicking off my BNTGirls Box reviews for December, this is the first item in my box: the Lafine Vegetable Firming Massage Cream. If the name or the packaging looks familiar to you, it might be because I’ve written about the Lafine Vegetable Deep Cleansing Cream and also the Lafine Vegetable Cleansing Foam from previous BNTGirls boxes! When I got this in my box, I was so excited because who doesn’t love a good massage (ok, me. They’re painful. But who doesn’t love a good face massage?).

Lafine Vegetable Firming Massage Cream

This Lafine Vegetable Firming Massage Cream is to be used in place of a moisturiser, after cleansing and toning the face. According to Lafine, it calms fever and heat, so it’s a great after-sun product in the summer time. It’s meant to be a massage cream that helps to firm the skin. Like the Cleansing Cream and the Cleansing foam, it has five skin-friendly ingredients that are cucumber, tomato, parsley, water parsley and carrot.

When I first opened this tub, I remember thinking to myself, “Nope.” because of the consistency of the product. This product is a thick (and I mean thick) cream consistency. I tested it out on the back of my hand and it doesn’t fully absorb into the skin. Not only that, it leaves a greasy residue. I knew this wouldn’t end well.

So I gathered my courage and tried it out on my face that night. As per the instructions, I used a generous amount and massaged it into my face in circular motions from the insides to the outsides of my face. It’s really thick, and it feels quite warm (almost like a real back massage) when you rub it into the face. After massaging my face for about 10 minutes, an oily residue was left on my skin. It felt heavy and made my face feel “dirty”. Because I normally have oily skin after being out the whole day, I associate the oily feeling with needing a wash. But I braved on for this review and went to bed!

Lo and behold, when I woke, there was a huge pimple on my forehead. It might have just been a coincidence, so I decided to try it again the next week. I then woke up with another one of those “under the skin” zit on my chin. After that, I decided it wasn’t worth it and just stopped using it all together. This Lafine Vegetable Firming Massage Cream might be a good product if you have oily skin, but if you have combination skin or oily skin like I do, definitely skip out on this one! Lafine does have some amazing products, I really loved their cleansing cream and cleansing foam, but I can’t say the same about this one.
