Mamonde Floral Hydro | Long-Lasting Hydration

Hello, friends! This post marks the start of a long list of blog posts coming at you! Today’s post is a review on the Mamonde Floral Hydro skincare range. If you have never heard of Mamonde, they are a popular Korean beauty brand that launched in Malaysia last August. Their name, Mamonde, is French for “My World”. That, and their tagline, “Inspired By Flowers” are the perfect representation of their brand because their beauty products have a key flower ingredient in them. The key flower ingredient in this Mamonde Floral Hydro range is Narcissus flower, also known as the Daffodil.

After studying 45 different types of Narcissus flowers, the Dutch Master and the Multivotine were chosen as the key floral ingredients in this new Mamonde Floral Hydro range. This is because the Dutch Master and the Multivotine has the highest Moisture Storage Power and Moisture Circulation Power, respectively. The bulb of the Dutch Master with its high Moisture Storage Power has the capability to accumulate moisture and nutrients that give the plant its elasticity to grow in the dry, desert climate. Also, the Moisture Circulation Power of the Multivotine shows the capability of one single bulb to produce flowers on its own stalk by transferring moisture absorbed and stored from soil through its stem.

With these properties, the Mamonde Floral Hydro range is developed using the Water Cycle™. The Water Cycle™ locks in and sustain moisture in the skin. As the moisture circulates, it spreads evenly to hydrate each part of the skin. Then, the storage properties of the multivotine keeps the skin continuously hydrated.

Mamonde Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner

1. Mamonde Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner (RM89/150ml)

This Mamonde Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner is the star product of this whole range. This product is basically an ampoule and a toner in one. It has the benefits of an ampoule, and the penetration of a toner. The texture of this ampoule toner is super cool. It has a special Ampoule Texture Technology, in which it pumps out as a thick, ampoule texture, but spreads out into a watery toner texture that absorbs immediately onto the skin. It doesn’t leave a film on the skin and doesn’t feel tacky or greasy. Not only that, a little bit of this goes a long way. Two pumps is all I need for my entire face. I’ve been using this twice a day for almost two months now and I’m not even halfway through the bottle.

I freaking love this stuff! Now I believe in Love at First Sight (or more accurately, love at first use haha). I LOVE the texture and how fast it absorbs into my skin. Not only that, it also feels very cooling and lightweight on the skin. After I put this on, my skin is instantly refreshed, cooled and hydrated. I highly recommend this product to everyone, even if you have oily skin! I have combination skin that leans more toward the oily side, and this works fantastic on my skin! My skin feels moisturised and I don’t get dry patches on my cheeks anymore. The best part? It didn’t break me out, woohoo!

I honestly love everything about this Mamonde Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner! I love the formula, the results I got, and I’m also in love with the packaging.

PROS:

♡ Very reasonably priced

♡ A little bit goes a long way

♡ Absorbs immediately

♡ Very hydrating, without feeling greasy

♡ Doesn’t break me out

CONS:

None.

Mamonde Floral Hydro Emulsion

2. Mamonde Floral Hydro Emulsion (RM89/150ml)

I’m typically not a huge fan of emulsions because they’re usually greasy-feeling. However, this Mamonde Floral Hydro Emulsion just feels like a huge gulp of water for my skin. The actual product pumps out as a milky texture which spreads into a light watery texture, much like the ampoule toner. Also similar to the ampoule toner, it absorbs into the skin very quickly. In the morning, I usually stop at this step because I don’t like having too many layers on my face in the hot, humid environment here in Malaysia. It leaves my skin feeling fresh, moisturised and soft without leaving any greasiness that emulsions usually do.

PROS:

♡ Absorbs easily into the skin

♡ Lightweight, not greasy

♡ Hydrating

Skin feels soft after use

CONS:

None.

Mamonde Floral Hydro Eye Gel Cream

3. Mamonde Floral Hydro Eye Gel Cream (RM99/20ml)

I LOVE eye creams because I came into this beautiful world with two dark bags under my eyes that makes me look like I haven’t slept in days. People usually don’t believe this until I show them a picture of myself at like, 5, with the same eyebags I have today, haha. Because of this, if I don’t use eye creams religiously, little tiiiiiny lines will appear on the inner part of my eye bags, aging me at least 5 years. This Mamonde Floral Hydro Gel Cream is an intense hydrating eye cream in a gel formula.

The consistency of this product is a thick gel formula that changes to a watery texture as you apply it. It is very moisturising and I don’t get the fine lines when I use this. It’s a lightweight eye cream but it does leave a little bit of a greasy film, which isn’t the best to apply makeup on top of. Because of this, I only use this at night and leave it to work its magic overnight. If you have a very dry under eye area, this will be amazing! However, if you already have oily skin, I might skip out on this for the morning time.

PROS:

♡ Deeply moisturising

♡ Lightweight

♡ Works well to remove fine lines due to dryness

CONS:

♡ Leaves a slightly greasy film

Mamonde Floral Hydro Cream

4. Mamonde Floral Hydro Cream (RM109/50ml)

Honestly, when I saw the word “cream” in this Mamonde Floral Hydro Cream, I was a bit like meh. Cream and oily skin is not a very good combination. At all. But after trying it on my hand, I was pleasantly surprised. Much like I was with Korean food haha (I mean, everything looks so red and spicy but it’s one of my favourite foods now). The texture is a very light gel cream, and it also turns into a watery texture when applied. It is, again, like the rest of the products from this range, very moisturising and feels cooling on the skin. It absorbs into the skin very quickly and it doesn’t leave a greasy film. You can definitely feel that you’ve applied something on your face, which is normal since it hydrates your skin while also forming a barrier to prevent your skin from losing moisture.

PROS:

♡ Very moisturising

♡ Lightweight, not greasy

♡ Cooling, absorbs quickly into skin

♡ Forms a barrier to prevent moisture loss

CONS:

None.

All the products in this range have a mild fragrance that smells fresh. It’s nothing too overpowering and it doesn’t linger. It doesn’t bother me personally, but if you’re sensitive to fragrance, it’s something to keep in mind 🙂

Overall, I think this new Mamonde Floral Hydro range is amazing! I would highly recommend the Mamonde Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner (my fave!) and also the Mamonde Floral Hydro Emulsion. This whole range works well for my combination-oily skin, and it also worked really well on the dry parts of my face too! If you’re looking for a new skincare range, and you like something very hydrating and yet lightweight, I think this would be a good range of products to try!
