Missha Color Filter Shadow Palette – Portland Filter

Happy hump day, guys! << Did anyone else use to think that Hump Day was something dirty? Only me? 😛 Thank God for Google, right? Anyway, is it just me or are the days just flying by? I feel like 2018 just started but tomorrow’s already the first day of March. I hope 2018 has been going amazing for you! The end of 2017 was very stressful for me and there were many decisions that I needed to make. But the past two months have brought about so much change in my life and I haven’t been as happy as I am right now, in a looong time. So if 2018 hasn’t been going as well as you’d hoped, trust that things will get better After all, there’s always a rainbow at the end of every storm. 🙂

Today’s blog post is a review of the Missha Color Filter Shadow Palette in Portland Filter. I have to start off by apologising, because this review has been long due! This eyeshadow palette was actually released in Missha’s Fall collection 😛 and I mean… Spring is already fast approaching.

Missha Color Filter Shadow Palette ($45)

Where to Buy:

The Missha Color Filter Shadow Palette comes in two different versions – Portland Filter (this one) is a warm-toned palette whereas Budapest Filter is a more rosy, cool-toned palette. From Missha’s website, it says that these palettes come with 10 shades that can be used on the eyes and cheeks for a complete look. The two shades that come in the bigger pans can be used for the eyes or cheeks. Portland Filter has 5 mattes, 3 shimmers and 2 glitter shades. There is also a good mix of light and dark shades.

The packaging of this Missha Color Filter Shadow Palette is absolutely stunning! The palette itself has a rose gold casing and is very sleek and compact. The palette has a magnetic closure which I love cause those always feel super luxurious. Here’s my embarrassing story of the day: there was this one time I just sat at my makeup table, opening and closing a lipstick tube because I was so amused by the magnetic closure LOL. To be fair, that was my first ever makeup product with a magnetic closure. I’m so dang easily amused 😛 Okay, getting carried away there… back to this palette – it also comes with a huge mirror, so it’s perfect for travelling or to touch up on the go.

I love the colour selection of this palette! It’s a very versatile eyeshadow palette that can be used to create a ton of different looks. With that said though, I don’t think the two cheek colours are very flattering on my skin tone, but they still work excellently as eyeshadows. I love that they have a good selection of lights and darks so you can use it to create an everyday look or smoke it out for night time wear. Or better yet, wearing a soft, natural look to work/class, and just darken it up after for a night out with the girls!

Oh, please ignore my super dry skin! Can I blame it on dry, winter weather even though it’s hot and humid all year round here? …no? Okay 😛 After seeing this picture though, it has motivated me to douse myself in body lotion before heading to bed (which will probably only last for 3 days, and then I’ll forget and my skin will be all dry again. It’s a vicious cycle!).

I keep getting off-topic (as usual), don’t I? The quality of these eyeshadows is impeccable! They’re very soft, highly pigmented and apply on the skin really smoothly. The matte eyeshadows are one of the best matte formulas I’ve tried to date – they’re not patchy or dry and they blend like a dream! My favourite has to be the glitter formulas though. They are very buildable so you can either use them to add just a touch of glitter (without much colour) or build it up for an intense, sparkly look.

Also, the longevity of these eyeshadows is amazing. I have very oily eyelids and no eyeshadow lasts on me without a primer (except the ColourPop Supershock Shadows). But I actually tried these without a primer and surprisingly, the eyeshadows still lasted the entire day until I decided to take them off.

♡ Great colour selection

♡ Highly pigmented

♡ Soft and super blendable

♡ Very long-lasting, even without a primer

♡ Pretty pricey at $45

I think this Missha Color Filter Shadow Palette is a great palette to have if the colours are something that interests you. The formula is incredible, the packaging is beautiful and the colours are gorgeous! It checks all the qualities that I look for in an eyeshadow palette so I would highly recommend it. But then again, if you’re like me and have 24102 warm eyeshadow palettes, you probably don’t need it. I know that’s not gonna stop you though 😉 No judgment here, cause I’m exactly the same!
