    2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup

Happy New Year, beauty nerds! How has 2017 been treating you? Today we’re talking 2016 beauty favourites. It’s a little late, but (hopefully) still acceptable in the month of January, right? I’ve round up all the products that I’ve used and loved in 2016, and these are the crème de la crème of beauty for me. These products aren’t necessarily new launches in 2016, but they’re the products that I’ve discovered in the last year. Today we’re talking makeup, and I’ll be sharing my skincare favourites from 2016 with you in next Monday’s post.

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup 2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup

I’ll be talking about my 2016 beauty favourites from each category (highlighter, primers, blushes, etc). These are the products that I’ve loved and used non-stop in 2016. Most of these have a separate post on how amazing they are, so I will link to the review of the product if there’s one. I’m just gonna come right out and say that this is going to be a very lengthy post, so grab some popcorn (or a salad, whatever floats your cravings boat). Without further ado, lets check out my 2016 beauty favourites, and see if you spot any of your faves!

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Primers

Smoothing Primer: Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser ($6.99)

I use this almost every single day before applying my foundation. Often compared to the Benefit Porefessional, they both do an amazing job at pore-filling and smoothing out the skin. However, I find that the Maybelline Baby Skin wins by an extra mile by helping my makeup last longer throughout the day. It’s affordable and it works wonders! This product comes as no surprise because I’ve featured it in more than one post. Check out how it helps to keep skin oil-free when achieving a glowy look for oily skin, how it compared to the Benefit Porefessional, and why it is one of the best budget beauty buys.

Radiant Primer: Becca Backlight Priming Filter ($38)

This product is truly a gift from the glowy skin gods. Maybe not the glowy skin gods, but Becca does come pretty close. This product is amazing for a healthy glow that radiates from within the skin. I mix this with my foundation to create perfect glowy skin that lasts on my oil slick of a face. It’s lightweight, it’s not greasy, and best of all, it smells like freaking coconuts! Oh, and it doesn’t break me out. Which is always a plus. I’ve used this on an off in the beginning of 2016, but almost every single day that I wear makeup in the later half.

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Foundations

Serum Foundation: Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide ($48)

I’m all about the lightweight, serum makeup! The hot, humid weather all year round here makes thick, heavy makeup almost unbearable for me. This foundation is very liquidy, super lightweight but has medium to full coverage. The finish of this is mostly matte. I say mostly because it has light reflecting particles in it that gives a gorgeous matte yet not flat finish to the skin. This foundation lasts the entire day on my oily skin. I couple this with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter as mentioned above to give me glowy skin that lasts all day.

Liquid Foundation: Lancome Blanc Expert Fresh Brightening Foundation

As you guys could probably tell by now, I’m obsessed with achieving bright, radiant, healthy looking skin while still having my skin look like skin. This foundation does exactly that for me – it’s lightweight, brightening and looks like my second skin. I love the Lancome foundations that I’ve tried. Another honorable mention is the Lancome Teint Miracle foundation, which has been my ride or die in the first half of the year, until it ran out.

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Foundations

CC Cream: Kicho CC Cream in Green ($29)

I typically hate CC Creams because they offer no coverage at all, and usually give my face a white ghoulish look. However, I really liked this one because it has a decent light coverage and corrects the redness on my skin really well. Even though this is the green version, the actual product doesn’t come out green. It’s glowy, doesn’t feel tacky on the skin and feels lightweight on the skin. Check out my in-depth review of this from a couple of months ago.

BB Cushion: Laneige Pore Control BB Cushion in #23

If you’ve been reading my blog for quite some time now, this probably came as no surprise to you. I raved about this product from the moment I started using it and I’m actually on my fourth refill now. One of the reasons I love this Laneige BB Cream is because of the shade range. They have a good variety of shades to choose from while other BB creams are usually too light for me. This BB Cushion has medium coverage and a glowy, radiant finish (of course). Because it is a BB Cushion, it is super portable and convenient to bring around for touch ups. Check out my in-depth review of the Laneige BB Cushion for before and after pictures that show the coverage of this.

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Concealers

Brightening Concealer: Physician’s Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow ($7.76)

This isn’t a high coverage concealer, it’s a brightening concealer that helps to brighten the under eye area and can be used on the high points of the face as a highlighter. I wear this when I’m not looking for that flawless, right-out-of-the-magazine-photoshopped look, which is most days. It really helps to brighten up my face and is the perfect product for the no makeup makeup look.

High Coverage Concealer: The Saem Tip Concealer in #2 ($5.55)

I only discovered this concealer at the second half of 2016, but instantly fell in love with it. I’ve heard so many good things about this concealer and how it’s a dupe for the $$$ NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, but at less than $4. It’s super creamy but very easy to apply. It doesn’t crease, look cakey or feel heavy on the skin. The coverage of this concealer is amazing – it covers everything. Dark circles, acne, redness, whatever you may want to cover, it’ll cover. Check out how it compares to the more expensive Laneige Cushion Concealer, and see it in action!

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Highlighters

Becca Highlighters in Champagne Pop (left) and Rose Quartz (right) ($38)

Becca highlighters are buttery soft, pigmented, and super gorgeous! Of course I couldn’t mention Becca highlighters without mentioning Champagne Pop. Champagne Pop is a gorgeous gold highlight that is intense and works beautifully on my medium skin tone. Rose Quartz is actually a limited time holiday release so I cheated a little because I’ve only used this for one month. But then again, I used this for at least 25 days out of the 31 days in December. Rose Quartz is a pink-toned highlight which I’m a huge fan of! It doesn’t show up as a streak of pink, but as a light champagne pink colour on the skin. It’s super gorgeous and makes my skin look glowy and healthy. The only downside to these Becca highlighters is that they break so easily! When I got Rose Quartz, it was already broken. But I fixed it in a few simple steps!

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Eyeshadow Palette

Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Palette ($46)

2016 was the year of eyeshadow palettes for me! I tried out so many new ones, but I have to say the one that I kept reaching for was the Tarte Tartelette in Bloom palette. There are warm and cool shades, both shimmery and matte in this palette. This palette is so versatile and can be used for so many different looks. The eyeshadows are super buttery and pigmented and have a very small amount of fall out. This is the palette I use for my everyday eye look – I use one of the matte browns in the crease and sweep Firecracker all over my eyelids for the perfect bronze neutral eye look. Best of all? It smells like chocolates, yum!

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Eyeliners

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper ($20)

I got this in 2015, but only really started using it in 2016. It’s everything you will ever want in an eyeliner – super black, smudgeproof, easy to use and long lasting. It’s a pen eyeliner with a brush tip that is very precise and easy to create a wing with. I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with eyeliners because of how they smudge on me in our hot, humid weather. This Kat Von D Tattoo Liner doesn’t smudge or fade, and lasts throughout the entire day until I decide to take it off. Check out how this compares to my former favourite, the Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner.

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Mascara

Non-Waterproof Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($23)

This mascara is one of the best I’ve ever tried. It’s amazing at volumising, lengthening and keeping my eyelashes curled. In one coat, my lashes look longer, fuller, and super black. I love this mascara for the effect it gives my lashes, but it’s not waterproof. I’m thinking of getting the waterproof version of this mascara, but I’m not sure if the formula would still be the same and it’s $$$. If you don’t have oily skin though, this would be a great mascara to try out.

Waterproof Mascara: Maybelline Falsies Big Eyes Mascara ($7.99)

I didn’t photograph this because I totally forgot since it was in my bag. This Maybelline Falsies Big Eyes mascara is probably my favourite mascara of all time. It’s double-ended, one side for the upper lashes and one for the lower lashes. It does everything the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara does (but slightly less black), but it is completely waterproof. It doesn’t smudge or flake and lasts throughout the entire day. It’s effective, and super affordable so if you’re looking for a new mascara to try, check this one out! Check out my in-depth review to see how amazing it makes my lashes look in just one coat!

2016 Beauty Favourites: Makeup | Liquid Lipsticks

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita & Lolita II ($20)

2016 was a good makeup year here in Malaysia. Sephora finally brought in Kat Von D, Becca, Hourglass, among many other amazing brands. I finally picked up two of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Lolita & Lolita II and quickly fell in love. It’s the best formula of liquid lipstick I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried my fair share. It dries in a matter of seconds, feels super lightweight on the lips and is not drying. Not only that, it stays on really well through drinks and light meals as well. I wear Lolita II on an almost daily basis (lol), and wear Lolita when I have more of a dramatic makeup on. I featured these in my Best Dark Nude Lipsticks post if you haven’t seen that already!

Sephora Creamy Lip Stain in 13 Marvelous Mauve ($14)

This Sephora Creamy Lip Stain in 13 Marvelous Mauve is one of my favourite liquid lipstick shades ever. It looks pretty close to KVD’s Lolita, but dries a little bit brighter than the KVD. The formula of this is also very comparable to the KVD, it’s lightweight, dries fast and isn’t drying on the lips. One thing I love about the formula of this is that it doesn’t accentuate the fine lines of my lips. I also featured this in my Best Dark Nude Lipsticks post.

    Beauty Favourites | November 2016

Christmas is in less than a month – I’m so excited! The Christmas tree is up, Christmas carols are playing in the background everywhere, and snow is coming! Well, snow is coming, just not here. The day snow falls in Malaysia would pretty much be the apocalypse. Anyway, it’s almost December and December comes with full holiday cheer! I don’t know if it’s too soon to have Christmas decorations as photo backdrops, but that’s what you’re getting today! Anyway, as with November coming to an end, I thought I’d do a November Beauty Favourites post because I’ve actually found quite a few amazing things!

Beauty Favourites | Beauty Nerd By Night

November’s Beauty Favourites are almost all makeup, apart from one hair product. I haven’t tried any new skincare that knocked my Christmas stockings off, so there aren’t any in this post. I would like to give a quick mention to this adorable Christmas tree that I found at Daiso though! Not only does it make a gorgeous deco piece on my desk, it also serves as an amazing backdrop, don’t you think? Anyway, on to the actual beauty favourites!

    November Beauty Favourites

    Moroccan Oil Treatment ($15-44)

Getting the only non-makeup product out of the way first, this MoroccanOil Treatment has done wonders for my hair! After getting my hair bleached and coloured multiple times, my hair just isn’t the same anymore. It got frizzy, dry and super damaged! After using this for almost a month after washing my hair, my hair feels so smooth and dries down to a smoother finish. It also smells so good! Even though I’ve used it for a month now, you can see the product level barely went down. The pump controls it so that the amount pumped each time is just enough for the whole head. I only use this on my ends, and it doesn’t make my hair feel greasy or weigh it down.

    NARS Sheer Glow Foundation ($45)

I have combination skin that can get super oily on my T-zone, and I like a radiant finish when it comes to my base makeup. Unfortunately, oily skin + dewy finish = disaster in 30 minutes. Because of this, I’ve always mixed a glowy primer and a matte foundation to achieve a radiant look. After a ton of people suggested it, I picked up the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Deauville and the rest was history. The finish of this foundation is radiant, gorgeous and makes my skin look super healthy. Even though the finish is beautiful without powder, I still apply the Rimmel Stay Matte powder over top to mattify it a little bit. After the powder wears off throughout the day, I’m still left with glowy, smooth skin. I’m obsessed!

    Beauty Favourites: Benefit Cosmetics

Benefit Rockateur Box O’ Powder Blush ($29)

When the Benefit Rockateur Box O’ Powder Blush first came out, I was very sceptical because it was marketed as a “one shade for all” blush. I redeemed this for free (blog post coming soon on how!) and fell in love with it! It’s a light dusty rose shade with some shimmer and it makes my cheeks glow! It gives my skin a gorgeous natural flush and has amazing staying power. However, I’m still not sold on the fact that it’s a one shade for all blush. On my light-medium skin, it shows up just enough to look natural so I’m not sure how this would be on darker skin tones.

    Benefit Gimme Brow ($24)

I had one of this Benefit Gimme Brow about two years ago. I remember loving it to bits and wearing it every single day. It was the perfect product for lazy girls – it was like it was made for me! It ran out in like a month though, and with that price tag, I never picked up a new one until a month and a half ago. With their new gorgeous packaging, I decided to give it a go and I remember why I loved it so much! It fills in my brows so easily and looks super natural. This works really well if you have eyebrow hairs that are shaped, but sparse, like mine.

Beauty Favourites: ColourPop Lippie Stix in Brink

ColourPop Lippie Stix in Brink ($5)

When I first got this ColourPop Lippie Stix in Brink, I wasn’t a huge fan! It’s a warm dusty peachy pink matte shade and it’s definitely drying on the lips. Because it is so matte, it does tend to cling on to the chapped areas. However, it is such a pretty colour that I couldn’t possibly just pass it up. So I put on some lip balm underneath and then this on top.. and holy shiz! It’s so beautiful! I’ve been wearing this so much just because it pretty much goes with any makeup look. It’s my perfect nude lippie shade!

    Beauty Favourites: Tartelette in Bloom

    Tartelette in Bloom Palette ($45)

The Tartelette in Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette is so beautiful! It has a mixture of shimmer and matte shades with both warm and cool undertones. It smells like chocolate, too! This palette is so versatile and can be used for so many different makeup looks. I use this pretty much every time I do eyeshadow now. For a super natural look, I just dust a light brown matte in my crease. When I go out, I use the shimmery bronze all over my lids – gorgeous! To smoke it out for the night time, I just smoke it out with any one of the shades in the last column (mostly the lowest one!).

So those were my November Beauty Favourites! November was a good year for me, and I’ve found a ton of amazing beauty favourites. I can’t wait to try more new makeup in December (from Black Friday shopping, of course!) and hopefully find some beauty gems! Have you tried any of these products? What are your favourite beauty products that you’ve tried in November? Let me know in the comments! 🙂

Best Face Masks for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

Face masks.. they’re a necessity for a relaxing night in. They’re also one of the most, if not the most, important part of a skincare routine to get beautiful skin, especially if you’ve got oily and acne-prone skin. There are so many different types of masks out there – ranging from a $1 sheet mask to a crazy $50 mud mask *ahem*glamglow*ahem*. Today, I’m showing you the best face masks that I’ve tried! If you have oily, acne-prone skin, and you’re looking for a new face mask to try, read on! 🙂

Best Face Masks for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

All of the face masks featured in this post are not only good for oily, acne-prone skin, they’re also really good for other skin concerns. All of these face masks are either a deep-cleaning mask that draws out impurities which helps if you have clogged pores, or are hydrating, which helps to keep your skin smooth and moisturised. Without further ado, here are 4 of the best face masks, in my opinion, that helps give you beautiful skin!

Best Face Masks for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

Lush Mask of Magnaminty | $14.95

This is Lush’s best-selling face mask, and I first bought it last year while I was in Australia. Then after running out of that tub, I picked up a new tub while I was in Hong Kong. Lush, will you please open a store in Malaysia already? Anyway, this is a fresh face mask that you have to use up in 3 months. Lush Mask of Magnaminty helps to draw out impurities, exfoliate dry skin, and soothe the skin. It has a peppermint scent that is so nice and fresh, with aduki beans to gently exfoliate the skin. This is a mud mask, so it is a bit harder to wash off. But once it washes off, you will be left with bright, fresh and radiant skin.

When you first start using this, it might break you out. That is the mask drawing out the impurities from deep within your skin to the surface, that’s why it causes you to break out. After a few uses, there is no more impurities to draw out, thus making your skin beautifully radiant and acne-free (except the few occasional one, of course).

Best Face Masks for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

Belif First Aid Deep Pore Care Mask | $22.80

This Belif First Aid Deep Pore Care Mask also helps to draw out impurities from within the skin. However, I feel that this one is slightly more gentle than the Lush one, in the sense that it’s not as heavy duty. This one is great if you don’t have problems with acne (lucky you!), but have blackheads and clogged pores. It’s smooth, gentle, and easy to apply and remove. With all Belif products, this has a really nice aromatherapeutic scent. This is one of my favourites when my face isn’t breaking out like crazy, but there are blackheads that have come out to play.

Best Face Masks for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

    O’slee Honey Sugar Mask | RM45.90

The O’slee Honey Sugar Mask is not as accessible as the other ones in this post because O’slee is an Asian (maybe even Malaysian..) brand. You might be able to find this on eBay or Amazon though, and if you ever come across it, grab it! This product can be used as either an exfoliate or a face mask. With honey and brown sugar, it has exfoliating, moisturising and cleansing properties. This can be used straight on the face as a gentle exfoliate to remove dry, dull skin. To use it as a face mask, add a little bit of water, and apply to your face. Wait 5-10 minutes and wash it off. After washing this off, my skin is always left feeling super nourished, hydrated and glowy. This is definitely a more gentle face mask that can be used a couple of times a week.

Best Face Masks for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin

Zamian Gold Cacao Chocolate Pack | $20

This Zamian Gold Cacao Chocolate Pack is a mask that deep cleans, moisturises, repairs and regenerates the skin. And yes, it smells like chocolate. Like straight up chocolate. It also looks like a creamy chocolate syrup. There may have been a couple of times that I wanted to eat this like how I eat Nutella, but I resisted. This product also contains gold, how luxurious. This applies very smoothly to the skin, and you may be tempted to lick it off your face (if you can lol). This mask is a bit harder to wash off though, much like a mud mask. But after removing this, my face feels tight and clean, hydrated, and looks bright. The chocolate scent does linger a bit after removing the mask, but hey, I ain’t complaining. It goes away after maybe like an hour though, so don’t worry about ants biting your face off, haha.

Those are the best face masks that I’ve tried for my oily and acne-prone skin! They have really helped me clear up my skin to make it look radiant, hydrated and smooth. I hope this post was helpful to you and that you have found a new face mask to try! Have you tried any of these face masks? What are your favourite face masks? Let me know in the comments!

August Beauty Favourites | Makeup and Skincare

Hi, beauty nerds! Today’s post is on my August Beauty Favourites 🙂 Monthly beauty favourites used to be something I did every month but me being me, always forgets. I want to start doing them again, along with other fun series that I used to do, like my “Shop My Makeup Stash” posts. So I kicked myself in the butt and organised all of my posts in an editorial calendar. I’ve also come up with a posting schedule and there will be new posts from me every Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays! Yay! Ok, time for August Beauty Favourites! 😀

August Beauty Favourites | Makeup & Skincare

August, for me, was a month in which I’ve rediscovered many of the beauty gems buried under my ever-growing makeup collection. Buying and trying new makeup is fun, but I love finding old products in my collection that I have no freaking clue why I stopped using. I’ve got a ton of makeup bits, a skincare product, and a body care product for you this month!

August Beauty Favourites | Makeup & Skincare

    Mamonde First Energy Essence

I got this essence a couple of months back from the Mamonde launch event, and I did a short little review on it. I’ve been using it so much lately, just in the mornings. I pour some out on my palms and then pat it into my skin. It gives my skin a much needed boost of hydration, and helps my makeup go on much smoother. This product gets cold after a night in my AC room, and the cooling sensation helps wake me up in the morning.

Becca Backlight Priming Filter & Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide

These two products work well individually but when used together, is a whole new story. Well, same story, just better. If you’re an oily gal like me, these two products mixed together will help you achieve radiant, dewy skin without looking oily. The Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide is a “serum” foundation that is super lightweight, has a matte finish, and it stays on for the entire day. I’m talking 10 hour days here, guys. No kidding. But I’m past the matte foundation phase in my life, and the Becca Backlight Priming Filter adds a gorgeous glow. You’re then left with a medium to full coverage, lightweight, dewy, natural-looking foundation that lasts for hours on end.

August Beauty Favourites | Makeup Products

    Australis Fresh & Flawless Powder

This stuff is amazing! It buffs into the skin beautifully and sets my foundation in place all day. It takes away any shine and tackiness from my foundation. The finish of this powder is flawless. It looks like my skin is airbrushed or something, but not in an unnatural sort of way. If you have access to Australis, I definitely recommend picking one of these up!

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Obsessed

Obsessed is a medium, cool-toned pink. And yes, I’m obsessed (I know you were expecting that haha!). I don’t typically reach for cool-toned products because I have a very warm skintone and sometimes it looks too contrasting. However, this colour in particular is perfect. My face usually looks way too warm and can sometimes look dull, so a pop of this on the cheeks helps counteract that and gives my face a healthy glow.

    Etude House Play 101 Stick – Highlight/Contour

I love the formula of this – it’s creamy, easy to blend and lasts all day. The highlight is a shimmery pearly shade whereas the contour is a creamy, matte, medium brown. Because I have a medium skintone, this isn’t dark enough for me to contour with. I use it on the sides of my face to bronze up my face, especially when working with foundations that are a shade too light for my skin. It looks very natural!

    Maybelline Falsies Big Eyes Mascara

This is one that I used to LOVE, and then I ran out of it, picked up a new tube then forgot about it. I found a new, unopened tube in my makeup stash a month ago, and I fell right back in love with it. It gives so much length, volume and adds a nice curl to my lashes. This is also waterproof, which is great for my super oily eyelids. If you’re looking for a great mascara that does it all, and doesn’t give you panda eyes, give this drugstore gem a try!

Lip Ice Sheer Colour Lip Balm

This is one of those lip balms that give you a tint, and the shade is supposed to be unique to everyone. I usually don’t like those because the colour is usually barely noticeable, and fades really quickly. However, this one gives my lips a gorgeous pink tint which actually tints my lips, keeping the colour in place for hours. Not only that, this also helps to keep my lips nice and moisturised. I always put this on in the morning, and it’s fine if I forget to put on lipstick because it already gives my lips a gorgeous colour.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II & Sephora Creamy Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve

I literally lived in these two shades of lipstick in August. If I don’t have one of it on, I have on the other one. The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II is a darker peach colour, whereas the Sephora Creamy Lip Stain in Marvelous Mauve is a, duh, mauve. They both have amazing formulas – the KVD is more liquid while the Sephora is a cream. They last all day, and are the most comfortable matte liquid lipsticks I’ve worn by far! I have a post coming up on My Favourite Darker Nude Lipsticks, which may or may not feature these two. Check back on Wednesday for that post! 🙂

August Beauty Favourites | The Body Shop Honeymania Body Butter

The Body Shop Honeymania Body Butter

I apologise if the happy yellow colour blinded you a little. 😛 I picked this up in a 30% off sale that The Body Shop was having in my university. Needless to say, that was the best day of uni ever. I love The Body Shop Body Butters for the night time because they’re thick and creamy. I slather this on before I go to bed and wake up smelling like a bucket of honey + flowers and feeling like a baby’s butt. Enough said, haha.

So, those were the products I couldn’t get enough of in August. I think August was a good month because I dug up many old beauty favourites! I hope this beauty favourites post was useful to you and found something you want to try! I’ll definitely try to do monthly beauty favourites, well, monthly haha. Again, my new posting schedule is every Monday, Wednesday and Friday 🙂 Now that Monday’s post is up, it’s time to go back to burying my face in books for my test tomorrow. Wish me luck!

What are your favourite beauty products from August? Let me know in the comments, I’m always looking for new things to make my wallet cry. 🙂

    Top Lipsticks for Spring/Summer 2015

    Lipstick Picks for Spring/Summer 2015
Lipstick is probably the makeup product that I hoard the most. I LOVE lipsticks, I feel like it ties any look together, and also makes you look put together when you have no other makeup on at all. Lipstick is a fun way to make a statement, express your daily mood (haha) and just gives a beautiful pop of colour. So naturally, during the hotter seasons, we like to pull out the bright lippies because, well, SUN!
During the hotter seasons, I switch between lightweight, sheer lipsticks and bright, bold colours. I put together a list of my favourite lipsticks for Spring, starting from the sheer lippies to the bold ones 🙂
    Lipstick Picks for Spring/Summer 2015
Maybelline Electro Pop Lips | Top Lipsticks for Spring/Summer 2015
The Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop is probably my favourite tinted lip balm out there. If you would like to see an in-depth review, I have one up from January. These are super moisturising and they work so well worn alone or under lipstick. They have three colours (that I know of): purple, pink and orange. I love that they are very moisturising, but colour-wise, only the pink one works for me. The pink one is sheer, but very buildable to a full coverage. The formula somehow erases the fine lines on my lips, leaving my lips looking soft and smooth!
Maybelline Color Whispers | Top Lipsticks for Spring/Summer 2015
The Maybelline Color Whispers are also amazing sheer moisturising lipsticks. I like these better than the Revlon Lip Butters because these are more of a “slippery” feel rather than thick butters. These feel really lightweight on the lips and they feel moisturising as well. There’s also a big variety in terms of colours, ranging from nudes to darks. These are definitely not the most long lasting lipsticks out there, but they are so easy to reapply even without a mirror, so it doesn’t really bother me.

MAC Morange | Top Lipsticks for Spring/Summer 2015
MAC Amplified Lipstick in Morange was in my last year’s Spring/Summer lipstick favourites too, and I’m still as in love with it as I was last year. This bright orange lippie is my go-to bold lipstick. When I feel like wearing something bold but don’t feel like wearing a red, I put this on and go! It’s great for events, dinners, etc. All the MAC lipsticks I own are very creamy, and they smell yummy. They feel like a normal lipstick – not too dry, but definitely not moisturising.
Etude House Vivid Pop Sticks | Top Lipsticks for Spring/Summer 2015
These Etude House Vivid Pop Sticks are great matte-finish, bold lipsticks. They have quite a few colours and they’re very creamy to apply. The finish of these look very velvety on the lips, but these are definitely a little bit drying – nothing a little lip balm can’t solve though. When I use this, I make sure my lips are nicely exfoliated so the fine lines aren’t there. I love these because of the colour choices, and because these are super long lasting. You can eat, you can drink, but these are not going anywhere!

Etude House Rosy Tint Lips | Top Lipsticks for Spring/Summer 2015
The Etude House Rosy Tint Lips are also an amazing velvety finish lip cream. I have an in-depth review on these that I just posted two posts ago, and this is my favourite lip product of the moment! They are velvety, creamy, and apply to the lips really evenly. They feel lightweight, and they last for ages! The colour definitely wears off in time, but it leaves a beautiful stain on your lips. These are pretty affordable too!
Those are all my Spring/Summer lipstick choices, and I hope you found a new purchase or two :p I’m looking for a few new purchases too. Let me know in the comments what your top lipsticks for S/S 2015 are!
    Thanks for reading, xoxo
